Each client facility is exposed to differing crime risks depending upon the nature of the business, its location and business operations.  Two buildings housing exactly the same operations, but located in different communities, could have significantly different threats and levels of risk. The risk/threat assessment seeks to identify the crime risks and  threats and their potential impact on the client organization. The comprehensive assessment consists of both quantitative and qualitative analyses involving recognized index reports, site and operational reviews, demographics,  crime reports and various security reports generated by the client.

A proximity analysis is  also conducted to  identify substantive collateral risks such as hospitals,  railways, chemical plants and similar facilities that would likely impact the operations at the Client facility.   Benchmark studies and “industry standard/best practices”, applicable codes and regulations can also be reviewed to support findings and recommendations. The Risk/Threat Assessment is usually the first deliverable to be provided, since it should serve as a contextual framework upon which all future security-related decisions are made.
