Security Standards and Guidelines…
Security standards or guidelines are intended to ensure a uniform application of security strategies across multiple facilities and establish a go-forth level of security for future construction and renovation projects. These Standards could act much like building codes, in that they are not subject to reduction except by specific arbitration policies requiring approval from executive levels of the organization. Depending upon the particular needs, standards can be as simple as a series of written design objectives; or a highly detailed specification-based document. Regardless of the format, the documents should include a method to consider the unique risks applicable to the facility. Thus, the document should not only include what is to be done. but when it should be done as well.
